Four members of the Club Sapphire Junior Bowls Academy have been recognised with selection in the Zone 7 junior bowls team. The team will contest the state junior inter-zone at Dubbo on the 17th & 18th of this month. Among those selected were Christian and Joshua Allman who will join Reese Finn-Young in the fours team along with Jake Barnes who was awarded the coveted singles role.
Junior bowls in the region has enjoyed a boost in participation in recent times with regular clinics conducted every Sunday morning at Club Sapphire Merimbula from 9:30am onward. The academy offers a fun introduction to the popular sport of bowls, any local kids interested in trying the game are welcome to attend, no bookings are required.
