The Jetblack Wild Wombat Mountain Bike race at Mogo will return this year, following a second round of funding to event organisers, Rocky Trail Entertainment.

The inaugural race was held last November with incubator funding from the NSW Government and support from Eurobodalla Tourism. This year the event will be held on the 30th of November and 1st of December.

Destination NSW says business entrepreneurs’ and adventure seekers’ Juliane and Martina Wisata are behind Rocky Trail Entertainment, which operates across 10 major tourism regions in NSW, including; Port Macquarie, Newcastle, Central Coast, Lithgow, Nowra, Shellharbour, Thredbo, Southern Highlands, Mid North Coast and now the Eurobodalla.

Juliane Wisata said the Eurobodalla Shire Council approached them to consider opening an event across the South East, and they jumped on it.

“After an initial visit by the Rocky Trail crew in early 2018 we put together the event concept, received a lot of encouragement and positive feedback from the local council and mountain bike riding community, which encouraged us to apply for the Incubator Funding,” she said.

"The event received a total of $40,000 in funding for 2018 and 2019: supported by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, through the 2019 Regional Tourism Fund."
