The Push Up Challenge has hit the Far South Coast.
Bega has a team from the United Fitness Studio gym and Headspace Bega participating. Each member of team UFS is aiming to complete 3,128 pushups in 21 days.
Vesna Andric from Headspace says the number reflects the number of people who died of suicide in Australia in 2017.
The Push-Up Challenge started in 2018 and aims to raise awareness of mental health and funds for Headspace, National Youth Mental Health Organisation.
To date the UFS team has raised $1,156 beating its goal of $500.
Vesna says United Fitness Studio is also partnering with Headspace Bega to offer support and opportunity for young people to access the gym, with an introductory offer of three free gym sessions following payment for one casual class.
