Weekend of footy, Narooma Lions and Batemans Bay Boars bring home the points

Sapphire Coast AFL has begun its 2020 season, as has South Coast Monaro Rugby Union. 

In Aussie Rules, the first ever game under lights at Merimbula's Berrambool Oval on Friday nigh saw the Merimbula Diggers defeat the Pambula Panthers,  72 points to 21. 

In the other game played over the weekend the  Narooma Lions defeated the Tathra Sea Eagles 79 to 49 points. 

In rugby union the Broulee Dolphins put in a solid effort but the Batemans Bay Boars were too good, coming away with a 36 to 10 win over the weekend. 

In other games the Taralga Tigers 24 defeated Jindabyne Bushpigs 10 and the Bungendore Mudchooks 17 defeated Yass Rams 12.
