Ash from bushfires falling in Batemans Bay area this evening

Ash and burnt leaves are falling around the Batemans Bay area. If you see smoke from any possible new fire please call 000.

As the bushfire emergency continues this evening on the escarpment country near Braidwood Far South Coast residents in the Batemans Bay area, and inland, are reporting falling ash and burnt leaves. 

Quite possibly the  large fire being controlled north west of Batemans Bay, called the Currowan fire is also bringing ash into the area.

The Braidwood area fire is being called the North Black Range fire.

If you see smoke from a possible new fire please call 000 immediately. 

Except for the Nelligen fire which started on Tuesday and is under control there are no fires in the immediate Batemans Bay vicinity.

On the Batemans Bay Noticeboard Facebook site residents are reporting ash and burnt leaves falling at Long Beach, Surfside, Surfbeach, Lilli Pilli, Mossy Point, Tomakin, Batehaven, Nelligen, Sunshine Bay, Denhams Beach, Bimbimbie and also Mollymook.
