The SLS NSW-DPI Drone Trials will continue along the NSW coast during the summer-autumn of 2019/20, and will include Malua Bay Beach for the first time.
Last year Tathra and Pambula were part of the trial, with over 35 sharks spotted.
Along the NSW coast over 350 sharks were spotted with beaches evacuated on 48 occasions.
The trials are also looking at how the drones can assist in marine hazard surveillance and assistance with rescues.
The Surf Life Saving patrol season began on the Far South Coast last weekend.
