Whale removed, but sharks still in the area at Tathra

A juvenile humpback will end up as compost after its carcass was removed from rocks near Tathra wharf.

The whale washed up on Monday and sent sharks into a frenzy.

The wharf will reopen today while the beach remains closed because some sharks are still in the area.

Tathra based professional photographer David Rogers captured the sad images not long after the dead whale was discovered.
