19-year-old Eden man facing charges after reversing into woman on a mobility scooter

A P-plater has been charged after reversing his car into a mobility scooter in Eden.

About 11.10am on Saturday, August 10, a 19-year-old man, reversed his vehicle out of his driveway on Flinders Street, Eden, and allegedly hit the 70-year-old woman driving a mobility scooter.

She sustained serious head and pelvic injuries.

Emergency services attended the scene and treated the woman before she was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attended and established a crime scene.

Following the inquiries, the driver was arrested and charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm - drive manner dangerous and using a mobile phone while driving.

The man's licence has been suspended.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear before Eden Local Court on Wednesday, October 9.
