Spearfishing wetsuits, similar to the above, went missing from a spearfishing competition held at Eden over the long weekend, as did spearguns and other gear.

It was a successful long weekend for most events and tourism on the Far South Coast, with the Jazz Fest at Merimbula, Tathra Enduro and Bega Valley Rally, which was won by local Ben Barker for the third year running.

However organisers and competitors of the  prestigious Interstate Challenge spearfishing competition held in Eden over the long weekend, and for part of last week are concerned and disappointed by the theft of thousands of dollars of gear from a number of boats.

Spearguns, spearfishing wetsuits and other items have gone missing.

One mum has taken to social media to express her disgust at the theft saying her son had saved for a year for his wetsuit, and it was brand new.

She says competitors run a raffle every time the competition is held to donate money to charities in  Eden.
