Pharmacy staff threatened with hammer in prescription drug robbery at the Bay

South Coast police are looking for a man who threatened staff with a hammer at a chemist in Batemans Bay today.

Police say just before midday the man threatened the staff at the pharmacy in Orient Street, before making off with a quantity of prescription drugs.

The man fled the scene in a car which travelled south in Orient Street.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 175-183 cm tall, solid build, unshaven and was wearing a white T-shirt.

The vehicle may be a white Hyundai sedan with interstate plates possibly QGK 929, or similar registration and black wheels. There may be a dog inside.

The public should not approach the person or vehicle if sighted.
