British national to face court over "disturbing" Jindabyne attack and sexual assault

Police from Strike Force Buckeridge arrest the 28-year-old man at Jindabyne yesterday 
A 28-year old British national, will face Queanbeyan court this morning charged over an attack on two people in Jindabyne last week. 
Police yesterday described the attack as "horrendous" and "disturbing". The arrested man is a seasonal worker with a local ski company. 
He is facing charges of aggravated sex assault, inflict actual bodily harm, cause grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possess a prohibited drug.
Police will allege the man assaulted a 22-year old woman and 25-year old man about 1.30am last Thursday on Kosciuszko Road. 
It's alleged the man punched the 25-year-old man in the head, knocking him unconscious, before physically and sexually assaulting the woman.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the pair at the scene for serious facial injuries before taking them to hospital for further treatment. They have both since been released.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad and Monaro Police District established Strike Force Buckeridge to investigate the incident.
Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives arrested the 28-year old man outside a home unit at Jindabyne just after 9am yesterday. 
Shortly after, a search warrant was executed at the unit and the man was taken to Jindabyne Police Station and charged.  
He was refused bail to appear at Queanbeyan Local Court today.
