A report has been revealed that hidden dangers of silica dust has been detected, and health experts are warning all far south coast tradies and renovators to be careful.

It comes after new figures of around 600,000 Australian workers are being exposed to the dust each year, resulting in more than 230 cases of lung cancer.

A representative from the Cancer Council, says silica is released into the air when cutting, drilling or moving a wide range of building and construction materials.
