Just after midday (Friday 14 January), emergency services were called to the intersection of the Princes Highway and Bingie Road, Bergalia, about 10km south of Moruya, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Police were told a silver Toyota Yaris hatchback was travelling west on Bingie Road at Bergalia, before turning onto the Princes Highway, where the hatchback and a white Mercedes van collided.

The P-plater driver of the hatchback, Laura Littlewood, aged 17, died at the scene.

The 62-year-old male driver of the van sustained minor injuries and was taken to Moruya Hospital for mandatory testing.
