A Batemans Bay man who's been dreaming of winning the lottery since 1979 has finally done it.
The man was one of three, division one winners in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4112, drawn on Monday 13 September.
They each scored a division one prize of $1 million.
Jenna Crompton from Cignall Batemans Bay where the ticket was purchased, says it's an exciting win for the region.
"It would be nice to know who it was, you know, because we have our regulars," Ms Crompton said.
"We’ve sold a few division one winning entries in the past and it is always exciting," she said.
"Congratulations, he's a very lucky man and I wish him all the best."
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4112 on Monday 13 September 2021 were 33, 15, 22, 24, 18, and 14 while the supplementary numbers were 31 and 16.
His winning System 9 QuickPick entry was purchased at Cignall Batemans Bay, Shop G39 Village Centre, 1 Perry Street, Batemans Bay.
Confirming his win with an official from The Lott on Tuesday, the man explained he’d just sat down to check his ticket.
"Thank you, it’s good — it’s great," he laughed.
"I’ve been playing for since 1979 to be exact, so I am glad this day has finally arrived," he said.
"I got an email this morning, so then I checked my ticket and I almost fell over."
When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the elated winner said he needed time to let the news sink in.
"I am not too sure at the moment, I might buy a house or something, we will just have to wait and see."
