A large sink hole has developed on the bridge over Stony Creek on the Princes Highway in Angledale between Bega and Brogo.
Traffic is affected in both directions. Bega Valley Shire Council has blocked the northbound lane of the Princes Highway at the bridge while works continue.
Traffic lights are in place on both sides of the bridge.
Motorists are advised to reduce speed and exercise caution in the area and add time to your journey with delays expected until late this afternoon.
The sink hole appeared to be approximately 2 metres x 5 metres.
The news of the sinkhole north of Bega comes a week after a sink hole was discovered on Merimbula Drive in Merimbula.
A detour set up in Merimbula via Monairo and Reed Streets, for the safety of workers and motorists.
The detour is expected to be in place until Saturday evening.
