There’s nothing wrong with having a cold one after a long day at work, especially as you might live longer than those who don’t indulge every once in a while.
Heavy drinking isn’t good for anyone, but beverages in moderation, like most things that you eat and drink, seem to be the key to being healthy.
The recent research was conducted at the University of Texas. They studied individuals ages between 55 and 65 over a 20-year period. It was discovered that morality rates in people who did drink alcohol in moderation were higher than those who didn't drink and out of 1824 participants, only 41 per cent of moderate drinkers passed away early, compared to 69 per cent of non-drinkers.
One reason drinking helps you live longer is the social aspects it brings, as it maintains mental and physical health as we age.
Always remember to drink responsibly as heavy consumption of alcohol is linked to many medical issues including cancer, stroke, heart disease, liver damage and brain damage.
Maybe treat yourself for a cheeky glass of red or a cold one tonight thought and help yourself live a little longer.
