People wanting to help those directly impacted by the Coolagolite bushfire can donate to the Bega Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund (BVCDRF).

The BVCDRF is a perpetual fund set up to assist the community following the 2019/20 Black Summer Bushfires.

The fund exists from the generosity of the community, and to date it has provided help to local communities in need to the value of more than $760,000.

By donating to the fund, a Bega Valley Shire Council spokesperson said you can help people in the Bega Valley who have been impacted by the Coolagolite bushfire as well as prepare for future events.

“Preparedness comes in different forms. While many of us are preparing our properties for a potentially challenging summer ahead, we can also prepare by having funds ready to help when it’s needed,” the Council spokesperson said.

“If you would rather donate quality goods and services to those directly affected by the bushfires you can use GIVIT, a not-for-profit donation platform that facilitates the donation of essential items for people in need.”

Goods and services can be pledged through givit.org.au and made available to people impacted by this event.

GIVIT works with hundreds of charities and support organisations across New South Wales to ensure people get exactly what they need, when they need it.
