Bega Valley Shire Council is seeking feedback from the community via a short survey on children’s activities and events offered to little ones aged between 0 and 6 years across its four libraries.
Council’s Community and Cultural Services Manager, Anne Cleverley said Eden, Tura Marrang, Bega and Bermagui libraries offer a range of activities to support early literacy, including a weekly Rhymetime and Storytime.
“There are also various school holiday events throughout the year and a Summer Reading Club that runs during the summer holidays,” Ms Cleverley said.
“We feel it’s time to review our current children’s program and hope to hear back from as many people as possible,” she said.
“You don’t need to have participated in library activities or events to be part of the survey, as we are keen to know why you haven’t and what activities and events might encourage you and your children to take part.”
Ms Cleverley said the information libraries are looking for include what aspects of existing events work well, what families would like to see more of and if there are any events or useful resources the libraries could provide to parents/caregivers.
“The survey will close on Monday 6 November and we will incorporate the feedback into our future program planning where we can,” Ms Cleverley said.
“The survey is completely confidential, however if anyone would like an update on the outcomes, they can leave their details.”
The survey is available online on our Have Your Say page and in hard copy at all libraries.
