This is an opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic person who enjoys working with children to contribute to a safe, healthy and caring education and care service. Working after school and during school holidays, you will assist with providing social and recreational activities for children aged 5 to 12 years old. You will also be required to take on supervisory responsibilities as rostered during periods of staff leave and school holidays.
This part time position has standard hours of 18.75 hours per week during school terms. Hours increase during school holidays and may be up to 38 hours per week as rostered.
As the Childcare Assistant your total remuneration will be in the range $29.02 to $30.62 gross per hour consisting of:
• $26.38 to $27.84 base salary,
• $2.64 to $2.78 superannuation (at 10%)
When in the Supervisor role, total remuneration is in the range $31.61 to $33.44 gross per hour consisting of
• $28.73 to $30.40 base salary,
• $2.87 to $3.04 superannuation (at 10%)
It is an offence under the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 and Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013 for a person convicted of a serious sex offence to apply for this position.
Verified clearance as a result of a Working with Children Check is required as well as an assessment of the results of a National Criminal History Record Check

To apply for this position you must be 18 years of age or above, hold a current First Aid certificate; Working with Children Check clearance; hold a current Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management certificate and an approved Child Protection certificate. You will have significant understanding of the social and recreational needs of primary school aged children. In addition, when working in the supervisory role, you will require team leadership skills, initiative and experience in planning activities for primary school aged children.
