Playdates with Emergency Service
” Playdates with Emergency Service” events will be held on the 21st October in Batehaven, 24th October in Narooma and 28th October in Moruya.
‘ Playdates with Emergency Services’ events are in response to childhood trauma from the Black Summer Fires of 2019/2020. Our Team members from NSW SES Batemans Bay and Moruya Units witnessed the trauma in our local children during the evacuations in the Bushfires of 2019/2020 and also during our recent school and preschool visits since then and identifies that even lights and sirens are still triggering our local children.
These specialised events are an opportunity for children and parents /caregivers the chance to create positive experiences with local emergency service volunteers and staff from local community agencies.
We have local emergency services participating and a free BBQ dinner, plenty of emergency service vehicles to explore and climb into, lots of children’s activities to make these events fun and informative.
Our teams from NSW SES Batemans Bay and Moruya Units have been actively supporting and assisting the ESC Childrens services team- Louise and Jenny and Eurobodalla Shire Council for these events that were successful last year and we hope to continue this success in the 3 ‘Playdates’ this year in October.
