Growing Veggies from Seed workshop 28th Sept
10am – 12 noon
26 Springvale Close, Buckajo (Bega) with Bega Valley Seed Savers.
Gain the skills and confidence to raise your own vegetables from seed. Raising veg and herbs from seed is fun and affordable and gives you access to a more interesting range of varieties including heirloom and locally saved seeds. Free workshop facilitated by Toni from Bega Valley Seed Savers.
You’ll learn about:

When to grow different veggies in our region

Using seed raising and potting mix and how to create your own

Sowing different types of seeds correctly

How to nurture, protect and care for young seedlings
-
When and how to transplant/pot up
Each participant will take home a punnet of seeds they’ve planted and a transplanted plant. Seed Savers’ locally grown and saved seed packets will be available to purchase.
Please bring along a chair, hat, water, and your morning tea. Any spare old punnets or pots you may have at home will be gratefully accepted on the day.
Workshop will be held outdoors and will be followed by at mini tour of the Bega Valley Seed Savers’ Seed garden 12-12:30pm for those who would like to stay longer.
Children welcome (with an adult).
