Matango – Attack Of The Mushroom People (1963 Japanese Horror/J-Horror)

After a yacht is damaged during a storm, its crew become stranded on a deserted island and seek refuge in a shipwrecked boat that is mysteriously covered in spores. After going through the remainder of their food and finding nothing else to eat, members of the shipwrecked party begin to ingest mysterious mushrooms, transforming them into hideous monsters.

Directed by Ishirō Honda and starring Akira Kubo, Kumi Mizuno and Kenji Sahara; this 1963 Japanese Horror directed by Ishirō Honda was over-dubbed in English and released in the US under the title Attack Of The Mushroom People
