Gun crackdown to follow Bondi terrorist shooting

Far South Coast gun owners could be forced to hand in their weapons under sweeping state law reforms.

Premier Chris Minns set to recall Parliament in response to the Bondi Mass Shooting on Sunday.

An analysis of NSW Firearms Registry data, as at the end of June, shows there are 19,315 registered firearms on the Far South Coast with the biggest concentration around Bega with 7746 of them.

There was 5100 gun licences holders in the Eurobodalla and Bega Valley shires.

1959 of them live in Bega and the surrounding area.

Two local people own over 100 licenced guns. 109 in one case in the 2550 Bega postcode and 106 in the Batemans Bay area.
