Bega Valley Shire Council has confirmed the design for a replacement Cuttagee Bridge will be voted in at their November monthly meeting next week.
Councillors will be presented with a report on the public consultation undertaken since the release of the three options and asked to decide which one to move forward with.
Advocates who want to see a like for like replacement argue the council was required to present that as an option under a funding deal with the State Government.
Council General Manager Anthony McMahon dismissed this was not the case at all.
“Right back at the start when this funding deed was put into place there was a meeting that included the Mayor and I along with the Minister, the local State member and our regional manager from Transport,” Mr McMahon said.
“That’s where we had the discussion around which of those original five options was going to go into teh final deed and there was the three,” he said.
“Everyone was clear upfront that one of those was definitely not a full single lane timber bridge.”
