A 19-year-old man has had his licence suspended for speeding in Cullendulla.

Batemans Bay Highway Patrol detected the vehicle travelling at 145 k/h in a 100 k/h zone on the Princes Highway on Sunday night.

The vehicle was stopped and searched with police allegedly locating a small amount of cannabis.

The driver was issued an infringement notice for excess speed above 30 k/h and his licence was suspended, while the cannabis was seized and he was issued with a cannabis caution notice.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, a P-plate driver has been arrested for drink driving in Malua Bay.

The 25-year-old man was stopped by police before midnight on Friday night on George Bass Drive after failing to stop at a stop sign.

He was breath tested and arrested after returning a positive result, before being subjected to a BAS test where he recorded a Special Range Reading between 0.02 and 0.05.

He was issued a field court attendance notice to appear in court at a later date.
